Miserable Christmas

So the brief was to create a Christmas card for the Hero of Switzerland bumper Christmas card value pack. I had this idea but it was a little rude

so then I had another idea which I wanted to turn out a bit like this, 

but it turned out like this and I don't really like it so I'm only gonna send out a few.

Travel with MICKEY

Hot off the press. My response to the Travel theme for the upcoming residency at Something Else, Bristol.

So one of my many collections happens to be shots of Mickey Mouse taken on my travels (plus a few toys).

I find it interesting how this ubiquitous icon not only manages to be so far reaching but also how much it mutates and yet is still easily recognisable.

I am going to have this image printed on a stencil printer (Risograph) in three colours by the guys at Ditto Press. There will be just 10 copies for sale.

A sneak preview of the work for the TASTY group show which open on Saturday and will be running through June as part of the E17 Appetite festival

The work celebrates the power of imagery/ iconography. The imagery that we are exposed to from an early age has enormous resonance. When reintroduced in adult-hood, this stored visual  has language has the ability to evoke a powerfully emotional and sometimes physical response.
